Based on all the good reviews for this restaurant maybe I was just unlucky but I ordered the lamb stew and although it was very tasty I was disappointed to find that the bowl was mainly full of inedible bones, grissle and fat with very little lamb. I had to fill up on bread and sauce. Very disappointing.

Excellent food. Fresh, well done, clearly a reason for which to choose the place. A bit expensive and one dish will not be enough for an adult. Unfortunately, we had to ask for bread and oil (which, in Toscana is a first) and the service was limited to the minimum necessary. Kids' food arrived last... Lovely atmosphere outside but we were in and there is nothing special, except for the caves under the buildings, where we went out of curiosity and kids played with the shadows... Very nice.

Amazing dining experience! The waiter shared with us the family history of the restaurant, gave us so many recommendations, and love the helpfulness of the chef’s daughter! Food was amazing and if you’re in Sorano you should definitely go. Thank you so much to the staff and thank you for welcoming us to Italy.

As a vegetarian if you spend a long time in Italy you will eventually grow tired of pasta and pizza and crave something different. So imagine my joy when I saw that Hosteria del Borgo had a burger, we booked a table and after some lovely appetisers I ordered my burger... I waited and waited, getting more and more excited for my burger. But what I got was no burger. What I was served was not only a crime against me but a crime against humanity! What I got was a patty, no bread no salad no sauce just a patty with french fries. I ate it with tears in my eyes and a lump in my tummy. DONT GET THE VEGGIE BURGER unless you want to be hurt. Staff was friendly and helpful and everyone else's food was great.

Our first night in Italy, we had dinner here. It was delicious! What a beautiful location. The patio is amazing. After dinner, we were allowed to look in the ancient wine cellar.
